Empower Slum Youths Through ICT Training

This project will empower 420 out-of-school youths from Nairobi slums by training them (in class) in ICT skills,entrepreneurship,Sexual reproductive health, soft skills and also offer them (on-the-job) training through job shadowing and placements. This will help upgrade their living standards by offering them job opportunities which currently go to youths from main stream tertiary institutions.

Youthcaffe is funded by supporting individuals. Although we are very happy with our current Work and the way our youths are being empowered day by day, we always have to look for more and new donors to make sure we can continue with our mission. Volunteer-ship

Do you have the time, skills, passion and expertise in web or related technology, and you want to share and make an impact on youth's life? Then don’t hesitated to get in touch with us, we usually have local and international guest speakers or lectures incorporated in our training curriculum. We source for people who love to share what they are doing without expecting a pay but rather have the passion of impacting positively to the lives of youth who aspire to be web gurus, entrepreneurs, project managers etc.

Cultural exchange

Youthcaffe aims for African youth to become champions of information and technology. Creating content about their own cultural context and searching for information they can use to accomplish their goals. Youthcaffe students contribute towards creating a positive media image of youth living in slum areas/informal settlements, to the rest of the world. Accessing the internet gives the students the chance to learn about the rest of the world! Several activities lead to cultural exchange for our organization and for our students.

Our style of training is more technical than theoretical even though students are taken through different arrays of theoretical knowledge.
